In case you were wondering, Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s office has spent more than $25,000 in taxpayer funds to keep his e-mails with Cathie Black private.
I filed another Freedom of Information Law request with the city’s Law Department back in November, just after the city announced it would try to appeal the case to the state’s Court of Appeals. This time around, I asked for any financial records related to the lawsuit since it was filed, aiming to figure out how much money (and time) the city has spent litigating this case so far.
You know. Just out of curiosity.
As a bonus, if we win and city is ordered to reimburse my lawyers for their time, the total amount of city dollars spent on this case could easily surpass $50,000.
